About

For great men of the Victorian age it was very popular for their biographers to ascribe to them tremendous ability and accomplishment from an early age.  Alas, should my life ever amount to be worth the telling, my future biographers will be unable to honestly proclaim that I was in any way exceptional as a child.  Quite the contrary, I was absolutely indifferent to setting and making goals, following through with them, and in general kicking ass and getting things done.  If fact, if you met me during the first seventeen years of my life you probably wouldn’t have remembered the experience at all, as I was almost certain to be much more engrossed in whatever book I was reading at the time then socialization and I was very shy.  Although I was always reading about subjects from history to geography to science I was a substandard student; mostly because I had already read whatever everyone else in class had read and was on to something else that didn’t have anything to do with the subject at hand.  So, if my grammar is lacking please don’t blame Mrs. McHenry from 6th grade grammar class, the fault is entirely my own.

Only much later in life, inspired by my parents and my uncle, did I realize that what you know is unimportant, it is what you do with what you know that means everything.  And so, as I began the painful process of learning to make goals, plan, and then crucially to actually follow through and carry out the plans I became fascinated with the study of living successfully and with purpose.  Although I have always enjoyed writing it wasn’t until the birth of my son that I decided that I actually needed to share what I was learning with others and beg of them to share their own experiences with me.  The internet serves to unite like minded people from Singapore to Muskogee and the blog is the medium for carry on the conversations of the 21rst century, and thus here we are.

As far as all that other biographical stuff, I am a Certified Public Accountant living in the great state of Indiana with my beautiful wife, a native of Guatemala, and my one-year-old son.  I am a former Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala and a graduate on Indiana University from which I earned both my undergraduate and masters degrees.

  • Hi Tyler,
You left a comment on my site, and I clicked back to yours.

You and I have some common ground; we both are using Word Press in the Atahualpa Theme.

We need to huddle on some techniques!

    Take care,
    Kevin
