Dream Deferred

Last week was a dismal one in terms of moving on toward the dream. From Tuesday through Sunday I did not log a single hour on the website! Excuses, I got a few. My 1 year son was sick Tuesday through Wednesday, waking up every night crying. As a result I was totally gassed by Thursday and skipped work to go to bed early, only to find sleep elusive and pass another horrible night. Perhaps it was the guilt of not living my life’s dream that made dreaming at night so fitful?

Friday and Saturday I had already planned to take off; Friday because of a wedding and Saturday to take my wife and son to see the World Cup Qualifiers at Soldier Field in Chicago. Honestly, what could be more important than taking your son to cheer his nation for his first big soccer match?! At any rate, the plan had been to take these two days off and then make up for it Sunday with a flurry of activity. A flurry that never came. Tired from a night of driving and with household chores to do I crashed to bed that night knowing that I had failed my dreams.

So now is time to get back up, dust myself off, and get back to kicking ass and getting things done. I’ve decided that it’s pointless to attempt to atone for last week’s sins; I’ve just got to go forward with new resolve and focus. So here’s to getting going, best of luck for your own endeavors!
